About the DerksenLab
At DerksenLab, we are engaged in groundbreaking research on invasive lobular breast cancer (ILC). The team studies the role of E-cadherin, a crucial protein for cell adhesion, and how its breakdown contributes to the development of this aggressive cancer.
What is Derksen Lab Doing?
- We have developed a mouse model that mimics the characteristics of human ILC.
- We investigate how the loss of E-cadherin leads to increased tumor activity and resistance to therapies.
- Our team is searching for new treatments and biomarkers for ILC patients.
With our findings, we hope to develop better treatment strategies and improve the prognosis for ILC patients.
